CSNO has over 1200 members throughout California. CSNO members serve children from birth through 22 years of age in public and private school settings. CSNO is unified with the National Association of School Nurses and has been a National Education Association Affiliate since 1968. The organization's goals are professional development, legislative advocacy, and communication among school nurses, membership recruitment, public relations, governance, and leadership development.
The mission of CSNO is to promote and strengthen its members in their role as the primary health professional within the educational community. The San Diego/Imperial section provides education, advocacy and support for school nurses in San Diego and Imperial County.
